Mahindra Scorpio Facelift

The New Mahindra Scorpio facelift has made its debut in India. Offered in 6 trims, the new Mahindra Scorpio comes with the same engine options of the existing model, but has been tweaked to deliver better performance. The trims come with a new naming nomenclature.

The new Scorpio features a new hydro-formed chassis but the construction is the same ladder-frame.

The new Scorpio gets a completely redesigned headlight design and grille as well as a revamped front bumper. The front hood and fenders have a new look, adding to the leaner appearance. There is an air scoop on the hood. The Scorpio has a more leaner and dynamic look. The SUV has been given new alloy wheels. There is a large matt black panel on the rear door. The tail-gate is flanked by two grab-handles and these replace the reflectors introduced in the previous facelift. The stop lamp has been moved onto the top of the rear-windscreen. The Scorpio facelift is updated with projector headlights and LED Daytime running lights, the rear too will get LED tail lights.

Mahindra Scorpio Facelift

The 6 variants are named Scorpio S2, S4, S6, S6 Plus, S8, and S10. Seated on a wheelbase of 2680 mm, the new generation Scorpio measures 4456 mm in length, 1820 mm in width and 1930 mm in height.

Inside the cabin, the new generation Scorpio gets dual tone dashboard with new futuristic instrument cluster, steering wheel with audio and cruise control and finished with blue-grey fabric upholstery. Other features onboard include touchscreen infotainment system, GPS navigation, driver information through infotainment system, automatic climate control, rain and lights sensors, parking sensors, tire pressure monitoring system and electrically adjustable ORVM.

The base variant draws power from the 2.5-liter 4 cylinder m2DiCr diesel engine, which can churn out a power of 75 bhp @ 3200 rpm and a peak torque of 195 Nm @ 1400 to 2200 rpm, coupled to 5 speed manual transmissions. The other variants get power from the mHawk 2.2 l diesel engine that generates a power of 118 bhp @ 4,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 280 Nm @ 1,800 to 2,800 rpm. The engine is mated to a new 5-speed manual transmission gear box. Mileage has also been improved to 15.3 kmpl. The entry-level variant gets the 2.5 l diesel engine producing a power of 75 bhp.

The new Scorpio is being offered in colours like Diamond White, Fiery Black, Mist Silver, and two new colours – New Molten Red and New Regal Blue.

Mahindra Scorpio facelift falls in the price range of Rs 8.30 to Rs 13 lakhs.

The new Mahindra Scorpio will rival the Renault Duster, Tata Safari Storme, Nissan Terrano and its own sibling Mahindra XUV500.
